International study comes with some financial risk, and many medical insurance policies do not apply beyond the borders of your home country. A studentsecure health plan can reduce your personal expenses if an unexpected illness or injury should occur during your study abroad program.
Many universities offer their own student health insurance plans to international students. However, university-sponsored plans can be expensive. Most schools allow international students to waive the university’s mandated coverage if the student can provide proof of comparable health insurance coverage. All studentsecure plans meet both J-1 and F-1 visa requirements, as well as most school requirements, at an affordable rate. If your university allows you to waive its school plan, you may be asked to provide a signed waiver from from your private insurance company or some other proof of accepted insurance coverage.
WorldTrips provides both student waiver forms as well as visa letters for students who need to provide proof of coverage to their schools. Students can submit a request for either form by emailing [email protected]. We will complete the necessary information and send copies of the completed forms to both the student and his or her school.
